mary, mary quite contrary

That sums up Grace these days. But really what I'm looking for is what would YOUR garden grow? This weekend we worked our back forty (well, really a plot that is 12x16 feet, its a lot bigger than we thought it was before we decided to use a manual tiller than a cool, power one). We've got a few things planted and planned for the garden, but I would love any suggestions from you! Leave them in the comments or if you'd rather, sent me an email. Happy Gardening!

My favorites spring items for our garden: peas (we train them up bamboo sticks to create a "fort"); leaf lettuce mix (just cut down what you need and it keeps growing back until it gets too hot); chives and flat leaf parsley. Happy growing!

Oh, I love gardening! We have such great plans for this year...we have pumpkins (cinderella, gourds and jack-o-lanterns), indian corn, green beans, lima beans, tomatoes, onions, garlic, basil, strawberries (150 plants fully established), and our experiment this summer is peanuts! What are you guys growing??

Thanks for the link to your website - we look forward to meeting you all this summer!

As for the garden, I guess it's pretty much up to you, but if you can find a cherry tomato plant called a "sweet 100", it' the best one out there. You can eat them off the vine and they're amazing!

Also, I've heard if you plant your tomatoes and basil together, you get some basil flavor in your tomatoes and the basil helps keep some bugs away. Haven't tried it, but maybe you will! I had a horrible time gardening in Saint Louis for all the bunnies...
