Once upon a time...
In a land far, far away a Nana, an Aunt, some cousins, and long-lost forever friends came to visit.
There were -
Lots of cheese sticks...
Stories to read...
Bonfires on the beach...
Old memories and old companions...
Marshmallow maneuvers...
Sandy s'mores...
Very filthy little boys...
Beach snuggling...
Dramatic moments...
and some sight-seeing...
After several days of fun and sun the visitors road off into the sunset.
I am still hoping for a fairy godmother to come and help me with my tangle of laundry and linens!

Don't worry, I arrive a week from today :)
Simply wonderful and such great memories came to my mind of family, children, grandchildren, friends-- here for the many beach times and historical sightseeing/events in Charleston.. Mostly at local plantations, downtown Charleston; plus beaches on Isle of Palms. Sometimes Folly Beach too..Side trips to Savannah, Simons Island, Jeckyll Island Park, Fort Frederick. Up in North Carolina for the massive , huge still operatable battleship "North Carolina" to clinb aboard and try to see it all. You could just feel the power of those canons as if they were in full blazing battle..
Exhaustion does set in..Jim and I used to stand in driveway waving till the last car was out of sight, tears made cheeks wet with joy they were here and sadness they had left..Then in the house we went, he hit one couch and me the other and across the room one would say first.."so happy I did not collaspe in front of them but give me three good days to come back to normal. Or will I EVER regain energy again?""
Much later the laundry machine was cranked up, kithchen put to order..tons of sand washed down bathtub drains, tub and shower walls washed, sprayed with germ removal..sheets/pillow cases ripped from beds and we worked together to get all ready... for many times, another happy event of visitors was happening that same evening.
Now my unexhaustable energy levels are running on low levels.."but it ain't over yet," and I have millions of memories to make each day a happy time.
Grits-by-the-seaside-in Charleston-sez"--" Sarah you do have the most wonderful memories..exhaustaion never can erase them; life will be fuller because of them" Love, GG/MOM/geny
Such a fun family! You guys partied it up good!
We miss you guys already!
